Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave begins its DLC rollout with Three Houses-inspired weapons
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave has received the first wave of its paid Expansion Pass on Nintendo Switch 2. The initial addition consists of prototype weapons inspired by the Hero's Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Divine allies and outfits are planned for late 2026, while substantial new story content and playable additions are scheduled for 2027.
The first wave of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave DLC is available, although players expecting additional story chapters immediately will have to wait.
Nintendo has started its three-part Expansion Pass with four prototype weapons designed for the game's central heroes. These weapons take inspiration from the Hero's Relics of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, bringing a recognizable element of the earlier tactical RPG into the newer adventure.
Three Houses influences the first wave
Each of Fortune's Weave's four heroes can receive a prototype weapon inspired by the legendary equipment associated with Three Houses.
These are equipment additions rather than confirmed playable guest characters. Nintendo has not presented the initial DLC as a crossover story bringing the protagonists of Three Houses into Fortune's Weave.
New weapons may create tactical options, but their impact cannot be determined simply from their inspiration. Damage values, availability and interactions with character builds will matter when assessing their practical usefulness.

Three gods are expected in the next wave
The second part of the Expansion Pass is planned for the 2026 holiday or winter period. Aurora, Smyrnos and Jurah are expected to help players in battle during the final act of the story.
This does not establish that the gods will join the party as conventional recruitable units throughout the entire campaign. Nintendo specifically associates their assistance with the later narrative.
Four additional outfits will also become available for heroes and allies, providing new visual customization options.
An exact date has not been confirmed for Wave 2. The announced seasonal window should not be treated as a finalized release day.
The major narrative additions arrive in 2027
Wave 3 will add stories centered on Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia, four warriors participating in the Heroic Games.
Nintendo also promises new recruitable allies, additional classes and other content. These additions have the potential to expand army compositions and character development, although the details of their mechanics remain undisclosed.

The third wave is scheduled for 2027 without a specific release date. Purchasing the Expansion Pass now therefore means paying for content that will arrive gradually rather than receiving the complete package immediately.
Pricing and purchase requirements
Nintendo lists the Expansion Pass at $34.99 in the United States. The base game is priced at $69.99, and the combined game-and-pass bundle is listed at $104.99.
The full game is required to use the DLC. Nintendo also states that the three individual waves cannot be purchased separately, meaning players interested in only one part must still obtain the full Expansion Pass.
Regional materials show a minor calendar distinction. Nintendo's American support pages list October 14 for the initial DLC release, while European announcements identify October 15. Both confirm that the first wave is available.
The important question is when to buy
Players interested primarily in the Three Houses-inspired weapons can access them now. Those hoping for additional classes and narrative chapters may prefer to wait until Nintendo reveals more details about the 2027 content.
The Expansion Pass includes all three announced waves as they become available, but buying it does not grant immediate access to unreleased content.
The accompanying version 1.1.0 software update adds Expansion Pass support and a Nintendo eShop DLC link to the title screen. Installing the software update is separate from purchasing the paid content.
For now, Nintendo has delivered the first part of the plan. The larger additions remain scheduled for the coming months and for 2027.
