Mario Kart World: French Player LOLmdr Wins European Tournament as Nintendo Reveals Top 10
France has a new Mario Kart World tournament leader. On October 9, 2026, Nintendo released the official European September Slipstream results, confirming French player LOLmdr in first place with 10,209 points. Italy's βλ☆DUGO takes second place, and Nintendo has also published the top 100 rankings alongside separate leaderboards for individual characters.
Fast reactions, consistency and the ability to recover from a badly timed shell were all valuable qualities in Nintendo's latest Mario Kart World competition.
The European September Slipstream took place on September 26 and 27, with the final results published on October 9.
French players have good reason to celebrate. Two competitors finished among the top five, including the player who secured the highest overall rating.
LOLmdr Finishes First With 10,209 Points
The top position belongs to LOLmdr, representing France in Nintendo's official rankings.
The player ended the tournament with a versus rating of 10,209, finishing 172 points ahead of second-placed βλ☆DUGO from Italy.
Another Italian competitor, βλ★Nico, completed the podium with 9,780 points.
France also secured fifth place through Daisam, who accumulated 9,713 points.
The event was based on a rating accumulated across races, rather than a single elimination bracket culminating in one final match.

Nintendo has published the full top 100 rankings for participants who want to check their final positions.
How Did the Competition Work?
Nintendo announced the European September Slipstream on September 22, with racing scheduled from September 26 at 10 a.m. until September 27 at 10 p.m., Central European Summer Time.
Every participant began with a versus rating of 3,000 points.
Their rating increased or decreased depending on finishing positions in individual races.
Players could complete as many races as they wanted during the competition window, attempting to achieve the highest possible final score.
Once the event ended, ratings were locked and used to determine the final leaderboard.
This structure placed importance on repeated results and consistency rather than one exceptional race.

A Tournament Accessible Directly From the Game
The competition did not require a physical venue or an in-person qualification process.
Participants needed Mario Kart World, a Nintendo Switch 2 updated to the latest software version, an Internet connection and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Eligible seven-day free trials of Nintendo Switch Online also counted.
Players could access the competition through the game's online menu by selecting the event search option and entering code 4245.
Registration was available before the starting time, allowing players to practice under the event's rules.
Individual Character Rankings Offer Another Challenge
Nintendo has also published leaderboards highlighting the strongest competitors for each playable character.
These rankings recognize players who specialize in particular characters, even when they do not appear near the top of the main tournament leaderboard.
For example, David from Germany leads the Cow character rankings with 8,438 points.
Overall winner LOLmdr also tops the Swoop rankings with 10,209 points.
French player Miaouryanc leads the Penguin rankings with 7,799 points.
This additional format gives greater visibility to Mario Kart World's unusually broad character selection.
Participation Rewards Were Available
Nintendo also offered a reward to players who completed at least eight races during the event.
Eligible participants could receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points under the loyalty program's conditions.
Finishing inside the top 100 was not necessary to qualify for this participation reward.
The arrangement allowed more casual players to take part in an official competition without having to compete for the highest rankings.
What Comes Next for Mario Kart World?
Nintendo concluded its October 9 announcement by encouraging players to follow its official channels for information about future online events.
The results announcement did not confirm a specific date for another tournament or establish a permanent European competition schedule.
Nevertheless, the European September Slipstream demonstrates how Mario Kart World can support organized competition directly through its online features.
The event is now complete, with LOLmdr leading the standings, Daisam adding another French top-five finish and Italian competitors occupying several of the highest positions.
For everyone else, the next opportunity remains something to watch for. In Mario Kart, not every racer reaches the podium, but there is always another starting line worth anticipating.
