Jigglypuff wins Path of Exile 2's third ExileCon qualifier

Grinding Gear Games confirmed Jigglypuff's victory after qualifier three and immediately pointed racers toward the final event on August 27. One slot remains.

The race is built to punish one bad decision

Every qualifier uses a Solo Self-Found Runes of Aldur event with a fixed layout. The objective is simple enough on paper: reach Act Four and become the first player to kill Tavakai.

Death is where the format gets nasty. It does not end the run, but a dead racer has to wait two and a half minutes before the character can move again.

That makes safety part of the speedrun rather than something racers can discard entirely. A build that saves seconds by pushing aggressively can lose minutes to a single death, while playing too cautiously leaves time on the route.

Jiluo, Giuygiuyg and now Jigglypuff

Jiluo took the first qualifier on August 6. Giuygiuyg won qualifier two on August 13, and Jigglypuff now holds the third finale position.

Each qualifier winner receives flights and accommodation for ExileCon in Auckland, an Ultra VIP ticket, entry into the Path of Exile 2 Race Finale and a Demigod's Virtue Unique Helmet.

Competitors also have to stream the complete race from a Twitch account linked to their Path of Exile account. GGG's rules state that an entry is not eligible to win if part of the run cannot be reviewed.

One qualifier remains

Qualifier four starts on August 27 at 2pm PDT. PC and console players can enter the qualifying event, while the live ExileCon finale itself will be played on PC.

It will also land immediately after a separate Path of Exile 2 broadcast day. Grinding Gear Games is holding its GGG Live about the game and update 0.5.5 before the race, followed by a short Jonathan Rogers Q&A.

The August 27 winner will complete the four-player ExileCon lineup.
