The Séance of Blake Manor joins Xbox Game Pass with a supernatural mystery on consoles

On October 28, 1897, private investigator Declan Ward arrives at Blake Manor in Connemara, Ireland. Evelyn Deane disappeared the previous day, but the hotel's staff seem strangely unwilling to acknowledge anything unusual.

Meanwhile, a group of mystics is preparing for the Grand Séance, an event intended to break the barrier between the living and the dead.

This is the setting for The Séance of Blake Manor, developed by Irish studio Spooky Doorway and published by Raw Fury. Originally released on PC in October 2025, the game reached Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026.

The console launch also brings the adventure to Xbox Game Pass, giving a new audience the opportunity to investigate its haunted hotel.

A mystery that refuses to wait

The central complication is time. Every action moves the day forward, while hotel guests follow individual schedules and continue with their own activities.

That means interrogating one suspect could prevent the player from witnessing a different encounter elsewhere in the manor.

Exploration, conversations and environmental puzzles all compete for the same limited time. The investigation becomes a question of prioritising leads rather than exhausting every possible interaction without consequences.

Spooky Doorway uses this structure to make the hotel's residents feel less like characters waiting for their turn to speak. Their routines exist beyond the investigator's immediate attention.

Finding an important clue may therefore depend on being in the right place at the right time.

Evidence is more valuable than suspicion

Declan keeps a detailed journal recording evidence, motivations and observations. Players investigate rooms, question residents and compare statements to uncover inconsistencies.

The comic-book presentation gives close observation a particularly distinctive appearance. Clothing, jewellery and nervous expressions can become individual pieces of evidence.

Once enough information has been collected, suspects can be confronted about their accounts and possible motives.

The game is built around active deduction. The journal preserves information, but players still need to understand how discoveries fit together.

This gives the supernatural setting the structure of a traditional detective mystery rather than relying entirely on scripted scares.

Irish folklore and Victorian spiritualism

Blake Manor draws on Irish mythology and the spiritualist movements of the Victorian period.

Its gathering of mystics takes place around the approach of All Hallows' Eve, when participants believe the boundary between worlds may become easier to cross.

Visually, the game uses a bold comic-book style with strong outlines, expressive characters and atmospheric interiors. The approach gives its period setting an identity quite different from realistic horror adventures.

The soundtrack also reacts to the environment, adding another dimension to the mystery as the player explores the hotel.

Game Pass access and console demos

The game is available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass on supported platforms. Xbox Cloud Gaming access depends on the relevant subscription.

The Xbox release supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing eligible digital purchases to work across compatible Xbox console and Windows PC environments.

Spooky Doorway has also announced new demos for Xbox and PS5 alongside the console launch.

The US Xbox Store lists a price of $19.99, although regional prices may differ.

One accessibility consideration is language availability. The official game website states that The Séance of Blake Manor is available only in English, with no confirmed French localisation.
