Phantom Blade Zero launches October 29 with over 55 weapons and a 2027 physical edition
Phantom Blade Zero launches digitally on October 29, 2026, offering a dark wuxia adventure built around fast combat, extensive weapon customisation and a protagonist with only 66 days left to live.
After several years of dramatic combat trailers and public demonstrations, Phantom Blade Zero is approaching its release. S-GAME's action RPG arrives on PS5 and PC on October 29, with a final launch trailer published on October 22.
That trailer also confirmed something collectors had been waiting to hear: a physical PlayStation 5 release is coming in 2027. The initial launch will remain digital-only.
The global launch is scheduled for October 29 at 10 a.m. Beijing time, corresponding to October 28 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.
The final 66 days of Soul's life
The story follows Soul, an assassin accused of murdering his master. After suffering a fatal injury, he receives a treatment that leaves him with 66 days to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy.
The world combines traditional wuxia with supernatural horror and strange mechanical inventions. S-GAME calls this mixture kungfupunk, reflecting an aesthetic that blends Chinese martial arts with darker fantasy elements.
Players will explore ruined settlements, martial arts strongholds and environments inhabited by both human warriors and supernatural creatures.

Optional quests may introduce additional characters and reveal alternative story paths. S-GAME has described a world with narrative discoveries, although the full scope of player agency remains to be established.
An arsenal designed around experimentation
More than 30 primary weapons are planned, accompanied by 25 secondary weapons known as Phantom Edges.
Players can combine equipment, accessories and upgrades to create different approaches to combat. Some tools support ranged attacks, while others introduce unusual techniques that extend beyond conventional sword fighting.
The reforge system allows players to recover upgrade materials from existing weapons and invest them elsewhere. That should make experimentation less costly than a progression system built around irreversible upgrades.

S-GAME has demonstrated extremely fast combinations, defensive counters and elaborate boss encounters. Whether the full arsenal remains useful across different enemy types will depend on the finished game's balance.
Difficulty is not one-size-fits-all
Three difficulty approaches have been detailed. Wayfarer is aimed at players who primarily want to experience the story. Hellwalker introduces more advanced and adaptive enemy behaviour, while Sixty-Six Days is intended to provide a severe challenge.
The developer has not fully detailed every numerical difference between these settings.
Martial arts performer Donnie Yen has participated in the game's development as a creative consultant. He also provides facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, Soul's father.
Digital launch and physical plans
The Standard Edition costs $59.99 in the United States, while the $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition adds exclusive outfits, a digital artbook and the soundtrack.
Pre-order bonuses include early access to the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit. Both can also be earned through ordinary progression.
Physical PS5 editions are planned for 2027 in Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate configurations, with the Ultimate version including a collectible steel case. Prices and release dates for these packages have not yet been specified.
Phantom Blade Zero launches on PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, following a delay from its originally planned September release.
