Gran Turismo 7 Adds Six Cars and Sportsland Sugo in Spec IV, With a Collector DualSense Coming
Gran Turismo 7 is accelerating again. Since October 14–15, 2026, depending on the region, players have been able to enjoy the first part of Spec IV, a free update introducing six cars, Japan's Sportsland Sugo circuit and additional activities. Sony has also revealed a Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense controller, scheduled for December 10 as the franchise approaches its thirtieth anniversary.
A Citroën 2 CV alongside a futuristic Xiaomi electric hypercar is exactly the sort of combination that makes perfect sense in Gran Turismo.
Polyphony Digital continues to expand Gran Turismo 7 more than four years after release with another wave of free content.
Spec IV was announced in September as a two-part update. Sony detailed the first installment on October 14 before its deployment later that day in Pacific time and on October 15 in other regions.
The goal is to give collectors more vehicles while expanding the activities available to driving enthusiasts.
Six New Cars Cover Very Different Automotive Eras
The first Spec IV vehicle selection reflects Polyphony Digital's enthusiasm for automotive variety.
Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo represents the futuristic end of the lineup. The electric concept hypercar was designed around ambitious aerodynamic goals, with sculpted bodywork, integrated air channels and a distinctive rear lighting signature.
Sony highlights the work invested in reducing drag while maintaining downforce. The Xiaomi is available through Brand Central in Gran Turismo 7.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta recalls the era of Italian sports cars from the 1990s. Its Pininfarina bodywork and mid-engine layout offer a very different character from the Chinese electric concept.
The F355 joins Gran Turismo 7's used-car selection.

Historic racing enthusiasts can also drive the 1987 Honda Civic Si Group A, inspired by the Mugen-prepared Civic that competed successfully in Japanese touring-car racing.
The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26 brings a modern racing machine into the collection, while the 2023 Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line represents a practical family minivan.
Finally, the 1986 Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston completes the six-car selection, reminding players that Gran Turismo celebrates more than outright speed and expensive sports cars.
Even the Citroën 2 CV Deserves a Place
The 2 CV Charleston is one of the update's most entertaining additions.
Its recognizable shape, modest mechanical specifications and emphasis on simplicity have little in common with the high-performance machines that usually dominate racing leaderboards.
Its historical importance nevertheless makes it a natural fit.
Produced over more than four decades, the Citroën 2 CV played a significant role in European everyday motoring. Gran Turismo 7 allows players to revisit that legacy alongside vehicles built for radically different purposes.

Sony even recommends taking the little French car for a relaxed drive around Sportsland Sugo without worrying about setting a lap record.
That suggestion is far removed from the usual competitive ambition of virtual racing, but it fits the series' encyclopedic approach to cars.
Sportsland Sugo Joins the Circuit Selection
The major new circuit in Spec IV Part 1 is Sportsland Sugo, a Japanese venue known for elevation changes and flowing corners.
Its layout rewards careful racing lines and the ability to preserve speed through complex sequences of bends.
The circuit adds another driving environment and provides an opportunity to experiment with the new vehicles.
Players hoping for the return of Autumn Ring will have to wait.
The historic Gran Turismo course is scheduled for the second Spec IV update in December 2026 and is not part of the October release.
More Events and Gameplay Features
Spec IV introduces more than cars and a circuit.
Polyphony Digital has added six World Circuits events, expanded the Car Viewer, introduced Experience mode and provided additional Scapes locations.
These features address different parts of the audience.
Some players will focus on racing and improving their lap times. Others will prefer exploring vehicle presentation, photography and automotive history.
The update itself is free, but the new vehicles are not automatically placed in everyone's garage.
Players must acquire them using game credits, earned through progression or purchased through the relevant systems.
An Internet connection is required to download the update.
Part Two Arrives in December
During the September announcement, Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that Spec IV would introduce twelve vehicles across its two installments.
Six have arrived in October, with the remainder planned for December.
The return of Autumn Ring is among the most significant upcoming additions.
Sony has also announced Family Mode, designed to make Gran Turismo 7 more welcoming when people with different driving experience levels play together.
This feature is scheduled for the December installment rather than the October update. No more precise December release date was established in the announcements examined.
A Special DualSense Celebrates Gran Turismo
Sony has also unveiled a new limited-edition controller.
The Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense features a white body with red and blue racing stripes.
Its central section has a carbon-fibre-style texture, while anniversary markings and motorsport-inspired graphics reference the franchise's history.

The design celebrates thirty years of Gran Turismo. The series debuted on the original PlayStation and reaches that milestone in 2027.
This is primarily a commemorative design edition. Sony has not announced a new generation of controller technology or exclusive additional features for this product.
Controller Price, Preorders and Release Date
Sony has announced recommended retail prices of €84.99 in Europe, $84.99 in the United States and £74.99 in the United Kingdom.
Preorders begin on October 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. local time through participating retailers and PlayStation Direct in eligible countries.
The controller is scheduled for a global launch beginning December 10, 2026.
Sony warns that quantities will be limited and actual retailer prices may vary.
As of October 16, the limited-edition controller has not launched, and its announced preorder period has not started.
Gran Turismo 7 Continues to Evolve
Gran Turismo 7 originally launched for PS4 and PS5 in March 2022. Polyphony Digital has continued expanding the game through updates introducing cars, circuits and additional features.
Spec IV extends that approach while beginning the celebrations surrounding the franchise's thirtieth anniversary.
The latest vehicle selection perfectly reflects its identity: a family minivan can share garage space with a classic Ferrari, a French people's car and a futuristic electric hypercar.
Players can already enjoy the first wave of content, while December will bring additional vehicles, Autumn Ring and Family Mode.
For collectors, the year's final months still have plenty to offer. For driving enthusiasts, the immediate question may be less about identifying the fastest car and more about deciding which one to take around Sportsland Sugo first.
